Remarks & Notes |
The Summerville Steam Special is on the final stretch of its return trip to Grand Junction as it passes by Chattanooga National Cemetery. In the foreground rest 8 of 20 men that actually participated (2 of them overslept) in the Great Locomotive Chase, including James Andrew, the man that organized it. All eight men were hanged in Atlanta & buried in unmarked graves before they were eventually moved to their current site, with a monument being erected to mark their resting place in 1890. |
