Remarks & Notes
The Georgia Railroad mixed train from Macon rolls past a loaded coal train waiting for a crew. The coal - powered by a three-builder U30C/C628/SD40 set - is destined for Georgia Power's Plant Harlee, on Lake Sinclair between Milledgeville and Eatonton. In the years after this photo was made, Macon Branch was severed, mixed trains were axed, Plant Harlee closed, and L&N and GARR disappeared into CSX. A couple of the tracks and maybe that SD40 are still with us.
