Where has a decade gone? This was the making of Phase III heritage unit #145, but when in primer they all look the same. The 822 was already through the paint booth and getting finishing touches, but still unknown to the outside world. As collaborator on the heritage schemes, I visited the talented employees making it happen. Later in the month an announcement was published to the joy of many Amtrak fans, with plans for the 40th Anniversary celebrations and heritage units.
