In July 1987, Santa Fe GE U23B No. 6332, was remanufactured in the railroad’s Cleburne shops in Texas. Santa Fe No. 7200 was the prototype for a proposed rebuild program for the 6300-6348 GE U23Bs and was labeled an SF30B. It ended up being the only unit done, and even though it was successful, it was decided to sell off the U23Bs instead of rebuilding them. On April 24, 1988, an eastbound Santa Fe intermodal speeds past the station sign at Dallas City, Illinois, led by the one and only SF30B No. 7200.
