Back Then. In the summer of 2017, Amtrak returned to Grand Central Terminal for the first time (for more than weekend) since 1991. On August 1, 2017, Amtrak Train 233 (AMTK 711, P32AC-DM, Phase III) passes an inbound MTA Metro-North Railroad train from Poughkeepsie with MNCW 201 (P32AC-DM) shoving near the Harlem-125 Street Station in New York, New York. Since this photo was taken, the Amtrak unit has had an emergency hatch added to its nose to match the MNR unit, which has been wrapped in an MTA/Conrail paint scheme for Metro-North's 40th Anniversary. This week, a construction shield was added to the middle of this scene, and a large crane will soon follow, part of the Park Avenue Viaduct construction that will ensue.
