Remarks & Notes
Looking through the crumbling ruins of a stone and concrete building in the ghost town of Siberia, California, is a view of Santa Fe SD40-2 No. 5134 leading an eastbound across the remote Mojave Desert between Barstow and Needles on March 7, 1995. Two Burlington Northern locomotives are in the consist—a harbinger of things to come.
