| GM&O Alco S2 No.12 switching cars at Springfield, Illinois. This unit began its life on the Alton Railroad in 1944 and would have a thirty-plus year career before being retired by the Illinois Central Gulf in the middle 1970's. Photo from my collection, no photographer listed on slide. |
