The Maine Central purchased two Alco RS11’s in 1956. One went to subsidiary Portland Terminal, and one went to the parent company. Within six months, PTM 1082 became MEC 802, reunited with sister 801. Nineteen years later, 801 has been scrapped, and 802 is in that twilight of its career at East Binghamton Yard on the Delaware & Hudson.
