Lead Unit BN 610 was GN 274B built in 1950 and retired in 1980. Train is southbound from Seattle to Portland.

Seen at the BN engine facility in Bend, this power set was used to bring the mixed train from the north to town.

This ex-passenger, ex-GN unit is one of the more decrepid ones around. Only MILW could compete, with it's occasionally plywood side panels.

Could we call it two pieces of nice looking junk.

I really wish Alco had succeeded and these were everywhere. My favorite centercab of all time, with the right intermediate height cab and the right trucks. Unit is ex SP&S.

No missing this ex-NP unit's pedigree, what with that magnificent bell. This was once a passenger unit, thus the "torpedo boat" air tanks.

It's quiet as the grave in the yard on this weekend as branch line power rests for the weekend. Great paint scheme.
