Savannah, GA bound and stacked with containers, CSX train I125, glides through Roanoke with a DC motor on the point and two more CSX units.

CSXT #522 teams up with the Chessie Heritage unit #1973, to bring empty coal hoppers north under one of several wooden bridges on the Lineville Subdivision.

CSX train I128 rolls through Broughton on a clear signal. A few miles back or so, is train I126, both intermodal trains are heading north and will encounter a rail grinder around the Malone area.

High priority freight arrives in Roanoke under the power of BNSF units, and a Norfolk southern locomotive. These containers are headed for the Intermodal facility in Fairburn, GA.

Speeding by on the mainline, I125 passes the Wadley Depot with containers from all over the world. This train operates daily for CSX.

CSX train M221 enters Roanoke with a short consist, and to my surprise with a mid DPU. The mid power unit is CSXT #550. Only 49 cars made up the assortment of freight in tow.

Working long hood forward, this EMD does a few shoves, then exits the yard headed for the mainline.

Here it comes, 89 cars and 368 axles of power and steel bound for more grain from Indiana.

Waiting longer than expected for I128 to arrive due to engine problems, it shows up just in time before the shade takes over this section of the Lineville Sub.

Passing the long siding at Broughton, one of the many intermodal trains that travel the Lineville Subdivision heads north with a stacked shipment.

Headed north with loads of phosphate, is lead engine CSX #3030. It crosses Depot St. which is about half way between the north, and south ends of Roanoke.
