Remarks & Notes
This EMD FT was wrecked in a collision with another train near Tobyhanna, PA on July 15, 1962. A loaded coal hopper came down right on top of the cab. A cutting torch specialist was called in to extricate an injured brakeman from the cab. The brakeman was trapped for about six hours. The article I found suggested an open track switch and possible excessive speed as causes of the wreck.
