"Farewell to the GG-1" photo runby at the west end of Amtrak's Lancaster station. The trip was sponsored by the Lancaster Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, with the cooperation of Amtrak, Conrail, and NJ Transit. NJT's 4877 and 4876, both built in January, 1939 by PRR/Westinghouse, lead the consist. 4876 was famous for having crashed through the bumper-post at Washington Union Station on January 15, 1953. Providing head-end power for the Amfleet cars was F40PHR No. 363, which was built in April, 1981 by EMD, using parts from SDP40F No. 505.
