After the MILW ceased operations on many secondary lines in Wisconsin, several shortlines took over. The Central Wisconsin RR Co. took over the Janesville-Waukesha portion of the line, utilizing a slew of old MILW FM's. Many of them never turn a wheel for the new RR however and they ended their lives less than 50 miles from their birthplace in Beloit. This line saw a renewed life with the WICT, WSOR, and now Watco.
