Remarks & Notes
New Triple Track

On September 17, 1995, the recently constructed Track 3 at the Fullerton (California) passenger station was blocked with railroad equipment on display (including Amtrak Dash 8-40BPH 809, Amtrak (California) F59PHI 2004, Metrolink F59PHI 880 and Santa Fe SD75M 204, along with some passenger cars) to celebrate the completion of the new pedestrian overpass. This forced all passenger traffic onto Track 1, normally used for westbound traffic (the exceptions being Amtrak #4, the eastbound Southwest Chief and train #36, the eastbound Desert Wind). In the early afternoon, Amtrak San Diegan #579, heading from San Diego to Los Angeles, makes a stop. A pair of F40PHs, 220 and 214, are pulling a train that consists of an Amfleet cab car (unusually placed behind the engines), a pair of Amfleet coaches, an Amfleet Dinette, another Amfleet coach, a heritage baggage car, and bringing up the rear, Amtrak 10002 "Corridor Clipper," the carrier's track geometry car, complete with a pantograph (reportedly used when under wires in the Northeast Corridor to test the catenary).
