Remarks & Notes
On a gray Memorial Day weekend in northeastern Minnesota, the St. Paul-Superior, WI Badger accelerates out of Brook Park as a couple of ladies who just detrained, head towards their ride home. The engineer of the Brook Park Turn sits at the controls in BN 6117, former Great Northern SD9 no. 590, and keeps an eye on the activity. After finishing connecting work with a Minneapolis-Duluth/Superior freight, the turn will head west back to St. Cloud, MN. BN operated passenger service for just 14 months before joining Amtrak.

Although BN spent just 14 months as a passenger carrier, it maintained the high standards of Burlington's Denver Zephyr, Great Northern's Empire Builder and Northern Pacific's North Coast Limited.
