Oddballs on Clinchfield's EMD-dominated roster, the U36Cs were disliked enough that a trade with SCL for a like number of SD45s was arranged. I never thought CRR's gray and yellow looked as good as L&N's similar scheme, but I really disliked the somber dark green that supplanted it. This shot was made around dusk, just after 3606 and a pair of SDs had brought in a freight from Spartanburg, and the GE and the GP38 beside it are trying to disappear into the mountain foliage.
