Beneath a moody November sky, the 6086 East is storming around the curve coming out of SO Interlocking amidst a number of elements now lost to the railroad atmosphere: the codelines, wayside phone box and magnificent PRR-era signal bridge and position light signals. The track in the foreground with its jointed rail is the west leg of the wye to the South Fork Branch that reached coal mines along the branch of the Conemaugh River. The 1889 Johnstown flood came down the South Fork and its wave was reportedly 35 feet high at this location. Fuji Provia.
