MILW 292, one of Milwaukee Roads large purchase of late phase GP9s for mainline freight service, built in April 1959, idles at Red Wing, MN, reduced to switching and local work by the acquisition of second generation power during the 1960s. The venerable Geep would continue working for decades, later becoming St. Maries RR no. 101.
