Remarks & Notes
A set of light engines roll past the former Reading station at Port Kennedy, Pennsylvania. The public is out in force to see Reading T1 2102 power a Reading – Philadelphia excursion, which is due at any time. Sharp eyes will note that the station sign has been changed to Valley Forge Park, a change made to ease confusion for visitors taking SEPTA to have a short walk to the Valley Forge National Park Visitor’s Center. The actual Valley Forge station is about a mile west of here, and is also within the national park. Passenger service to both was dropped in 1981, when SEPTA discontinued all diesel service.
