If this was an excursion, this would be the epitome of "rare mileage", the OCS toured the entire Bone Valley on this day and in doing so ran into areas they had to run around the train, this allowed for #2 to take the lead at times. One such movement, seen here, is running from Fort Meade clear down to the Hardee mine using the often-overlooked stretch of track between South Mulberry and Achan Junction. There is currently a huge MOW presence along this route increasing overall track speed. "Dynamite" won't be found on an official timetable, but is an old name used to identify this location, as there is an ammo supplier on the property and at one time, so were land mines.
CSX has diverse passenger operations that include office car specials, trips to major events like the Kentucky Derby, track geometry trains and the annual Santa Claus train over the northern section of the fallen flag Clinchfield Railroad.
