| Much of the railroad scene has lost its appeal to me with the sameness or removal of signal systems, the prevalence of container boxes in lieu of rolling stock and the bloated merged systems that can barely manage. All just the standardization of corporate dullness. Fancy that a string of coal cars in mineral red seems a welcome view; or the position light signals protecting MG interlocking on the mountain slope west of Altoona an icon of a hustling railroad that was CR. An SD60M, SD50 and Dash8 have NYC lettered hoppers in tow on an early autumn Saturday afternoon. Fuji Astia. |
