As has been mentioned in captions to other images of Conrail TV-556, this sought-after train typically arrived in New Jersey on Thursdays, and holidays were no exception. So, on Thanksgiving Day 1993 TV-556 passed Ridgefield Park station behind a Cotton Belt GP60 and NRE GP40. The train typically arrived in the morning, so it was running a bit late here at 12:00 noon. SSW 9649 was no stranger to New Jersey, having led a TV-556 on at least one other occasion, earlier in 1993. The NRE GP40 had an interesting history, eventually working for Algoma Central and later Wisconsin Central.
