Remarks & Notes

The Northern Pacific Railway continued to use FT's long after other railroads had traded theirs for 2nd-generation diesel locomotives. The Tacoma Division was the home of the remaining FTs in the late 1960s. In this view a four-unit sets 5401D-5400C coupled with 5405B-5405A rests between runs at Portland Union Station in August 1965. Photo by Al Marko, from my collection.
