Crepuscular Carolinian | The sun has just begun to appear over the horizon on a cool Wednesday, December 20, 2023 morning as the day's northbound Carolinian service crosses the bridge over the Yadkin River near Linwood, NC. The Carolinian - Amtrak train number 80 - runs from Charlotte, NC to New York City daily as a part of Amtrak's Northeast Regional system.

Three north-south routes cross the Carolinas. Auto Train runs through here, too. Also, the State of North Carolina sponsors the Piedmont service and supports the Carolinian.
