Illinois Central E6 4003 and E7 4007 are leading train 51 The Green Diamond near Springfield, Illinois on March 7, 1955. The Green Diamond covered the 294 miles from Chicago to St. Louis in 4 hours 55 minutes, averaging 59 miles per hour. Departing Chicago in the morning and returning that that same evening.
