BN 9234 leads a 5 unit consist on an empty coal train near Bill, WY in May of 1991.

CNW 6890 brings the first cut of steaming taconite pellets to Empire Junction in Negaunee, MI in October of 1988. The ore came from the Empire Mine, which has recently closed.

CNW 4194 crosses the Milwaukee River bridge with a short train in November of 1995. This bridge is no longer used and was once the route of the famed "400" fleet.

In a scene that looks vastly different today, WC F45 6654 crests Byron Hill with a southbound freight. This line is now CN and double tracked. Helpers however, are still sometimes used p the hill.
