#18 has cut away and will wye and take the train back to Warnerville. #28 will turn and run light to Warnerville, take water, then be put in thead for the return to Oakdale.

Amtrak's "Rainbow Era" was over by early 1975 as Amtrak #621 lead Train #6 over the Truckee River East of Verdi. The sixth car in the consist was one of SP's home-built dome cars.

Less than two months remain until Amtrak will assume operation of most of the long distance trains. UP E9 #952 has just arrived with the "City of Los Angeles" as Santa Fe #46 waits in the distance... (more)

Three SP SD7's rest outside the NWP's Willits roundhouse in August of 1966. turntable was located behind the building and can be seen the the open door. This facility has since been razed.

#3030 is on the last curve into SP's Cahill St. Station in San Jose with Train 118. The area on the right is now the loication of the San Jose Ice Arena.

One of the last strongholds for SP's Baldwin roadswitchers was the Roseville hump. At the East end of the yard, #5264 and #5242 spend a cold Saturday in January of 1968.

SP's "San Joaquin Daylight" has just crossed the San Joaquin River on SP's lift span at Mossdale. The area to the right is now housing.
