This southbound stack train has crossed Iona Isand on it's way towards Jones Point as the early morning sun is still working at lifting the low lying clouds and fully lighting the area.

Conrail C39-8 class unit 6000 charges out of Fort Montgomery Tunnel and over Popolopen Creek. You can see the long string of autoracks trailing behind for over a mile up the Hudson.

In the last light of the day, a northbound merchandise train crawls along the Hudson River at Bear Mountain. Iona Island is visible here, as is the Inn at Bear Mountain.
