Penn Central 4903, leads an intercity passenger train. 18 months earlier, she pulled the RFK funeral train in her new black dress. Later, #4903 retired and moved to Texas where she is preserved today. Location is believed to be Metuchen, N.J., correction pending.

The three biggest passenger carriers - Pennsylvania, New York Central, and New Haven - merged to create the ill-fated Penn Central, whose passenger losses and poor service led to the formation of Amtrak and state-owned commuter lines.
