Jersey Central's tower and main line sit abandoned at Nesquehoning Junction, located near Jim Thorpe, PA.
Allentown- Scranton traffic had been rerouted to the Lehigh Valley line between Lehighton and White Haven to save on maintenance expenses. The branch track along the hillside went to connections at Hauto and Haucks.
The scene is very different in 2015. The trees have grown in, and the tower is a vandalized ruin. The Reading and Northern Railroad now operates the former branch, and has restored one of the former main tracks for operation. Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway operates excursion trains through here, usually to Old Penn Haven (Penn Haven Junction).
