Ex-ICRR, these seem to have been acquired for resale after N&E was already heavily into GEs. Not sure just where they ended up.

These were nee-C&O via LS&I and others and really nice looking but I couldn't catch them working. I don't think they did much.

Man, these things got around. The didn't last very long here and I think only two got a full paint job. The other one was tuscan red.

On a cold dreary day in December 1986 I found a former RS3 that had been rebuilt into a GP12 and a P&LE U28B waiting to haul more coal at Paris.

As I recall only one of these ever got this paint job. Unfortunately catching the C&G on the road was a hard thing to do.

Still wearing its original IC number, this one is a rare bird. IC rebuilt it to 2000HP at some point and added the access hatches to the roof. Was usually parked right by the IC main.

Being one of the first repaints this unit got a lot of attention. I understand it started out as Louisiana Midland before IC. Paducah was always a great place for surprises and variety.

I always liked these units, no slope in the long hood, kinda Baldwinesque, you might say. No you wouldn't. Our course if you were around the early PAL you liked anything with paint!
